CODUR Recap: A strong start into the summer months

Two CODUR workshops have taken place in the months of June and July as part of the dissemination strategy of the project.

Two CODUR workshops have taken place in the months of June and July as part of the dissemination strategy of the project. In both workshops the CODUR project, its aims, partners, funding, and results have been presented. The workshops have also allowed for the participation of experts in online education and stakeholders in the test and refinement of the CODUR criteria and indicators. These metrics for the assessment of the quality of online higher education institutions have been, thus, introduced and discussed about in the workshops. Specific questionnaires were prepared to that aim. The workshops have also been used to present the current state and reputation of online higher education and to incite a debate on the evaluation of the online dimension within the university ranking systems in the European community.

The first workshop took place in the context of the Annual General Meeting of the European Distance and E-learning Network (EDEN), celebrated in Genoa in June 17-20. The partnership of the project was allowed to organize a workshop, which constitutes part of the first Multiplier Event of the project. Multiplier Events are major dissemination events in which the intellectual outputs of a project are presented and a main strategy for the dissemination of the results of the CODUR project. The participation at the EDEN General Meeting also contributed to the diffusion of the results of the project to networks and university associations.

The second workshop took place in the context of the X International Conference on University Teaching and Innovation (CIDUI), celebrated in Girona (Spain) on July 4-6.  As in the case of the EDEN General Conference, a specific CODUR workshop was organized for the dissemination of the intellectual outputs of the project. This activity constitutes the second Multiplier Event of the project and mainly reached university professors and researchers. The CIDUI has also the advantage of bringing together representatives of higher education institutions and of quality agencies. Considering that most universities are not online, this Multiplier Event aimed at explaining the benefits of the results of the project to all universities and to make online education more reputable through the presentation of an online dimension in a ranking.
