For the 2012 edition of the Doctoral Programme in the Information and Knowledge Society, a total of 20 doctoral positions are being offered, distributed as follows:

• 10 positions for full-time, attending students benefiting from a competitive predoctoral grant, such as the IN3-UOC grants for doctoral theses or grants from other bodies (such as the Ministry of Science and Innovation and the Catalan Agency for the Management of University and Research Grants [Agència de Gestió d’Ajuts Universitaris i de Recerca de Catalunya] through the Fundació Universitat Oberta de Catalunya (FUOC).
• 10 positions for students who will take the doctoral research programme course on a distance learning-based system.
