The IN3 is inviting applications for two posts as postdoctoral investigators at the Institute for the academic year 2011-2012. Admissions are by competitive award, the successful candidates being selected by the Cognitive Neuroscience and Information Technology Research program Management Committee.
Accepting the status of postdoctoral investigator entails undertaking the associated professional work at the IN3 building (C/ Roc Boronat, 117, 7ª planta. 08018. Barcelona), where the laboratory is and they will have offices and logistical, administrative and documentary support.
The duration of the grant is for twelve months from September 1st 2011 to September 1st 2012. It is not renewable.
Generic obligations of postdoctoral researchers:
· Carry out the research work in accordance with the criteria established by the IN3 and the Cognitive Neuroscience and Information Technology Research program.
· In any written documents deriving from the research work undertaken, state their affiliation to the IN3 and the Cognitive Neuroscience and Information Technology Research program.
· Integrate in the scientific community of the IN3 in particular and the UOC community in general in the spirit of scientific collaboration.
· Abide by the internal regulations of the UOC, especially employment conditions and health and safety regulations.
· Have the research activity submitted to the review of the ethics committee of the Institute.
Should any of these obligations not be fulfilled, the IN3 and Evaluation Committee for will have the right to revoke the grant.
· PhD at the time of taking possession of the post.
· Presentation of a detailed curriculum of research activities.
· Presentation of a research project for their year as postdoctoral investigators, defining the scientific results anticipated from that period (10 pages maximum) with a schedule for implementation.
To assess the applications, the Committee will take into account the following criteria:
· Facility to write and interact in English, given the IN3’s multilingual nature.
· Aptitude of candidates to carry out the research work.
· The degree to which the candidate's training, experience and research interests meet the subject matter of the research program.
o Training in cognitive neuroscience, neuropsychology and psychobiology.
o Have advanced knowledge of the following software: SPM, SPSS, MATLAB, e-prime.
o Training in neuroimaging and noninvasive brain stimulation techniques.
· Ability to work in a team.
The period for applying ends on June 1st 2011. The resolution of the successful candidates will be announced on June 17th 2011.
