14/03/2011

The "Seminars of Reflection and Debate" and the Conflictology Research and Studies Centre have joined the IN3, along with the SUNAI research group.

Under the heading "Seminars of Reflection and Debate", IN3 hosts starting this January two initiatives to promote interdisciplinary analysis and discussion around " Communication and Civil Society" and " Health Policies". These seminars are led respectively by Joan Coscubiela, former Secretary General of CCOO in Catalonia and professor at ESADE and Juli de Nadal, director of Corporació Sanitària Parc Taulí.

The SUNAI research group (Scene Understanding and Artificial Intelligence Lab) has been recognised by the IN3. This group, comprised by UOC computer science lecturers, specializes in computer vision and artificial intelligence. The members are: David Masip (director), Xavier Baró and Àgata Lapedriza.

The Conflictology Research and Studies Centre (CREC), which is joining the IN3, is a centre run by Eduard Vinyamata and composed by researchers and scholars from different fields, working to provide public and private institutions the proper assessment for them to find concrete and practical non-violent solutions to real conflicts in our contemporary societies. CREC publishes the Journal of Conflictology , an interdisciplinary and scientifically peer-reviewed publication on conflict resolution which is freely available to the public.
