Isidor Marí was formerly a lecturer at the Faculty of Humanities of the University of the Balearic Islands. From 1980 to 1996, he held diverse posts in the Generalitat, such as the Head of the Language Advisory Service (1980-1988) and Deputy Director of Language Policy up to 1996, the year that he joined the Open University of Catalonia.

Miquel Strubell was Head of the Language Standardisation Service of the Generalitat of Catalonia in 1980. He subsequently held the positions of Director of the Institut de Sociolingüística Catalana (Catalan Sociolinguistics Institute), Secretary of the Consell Social de la Llengua Catalana (Social Council of the Catalan Language) and Vice-President of the Consorci per a la Normalització Lingüística (Consortium for Language Standardisation), until 1999, when he became a lecturer at the UOC.
